Its hot in here

Well Las Vegas is over a hundred degrees at the moment and a fabulous thing happened, our air conditioner broke and I believe its 90 degrees in here. Eh its hot.

My store opened up last Wednesday and I think that week I worked over 50+ hours last week. I mean I love it but I got very tired, I mean I passed out at like ten on Saturday night.

Yes I am covered in a lot of stickers ... I had on two sashes and a hat by the end of the day. i didn't expect our store to do as good as it is doing. it does about twice the business that my other store did. it as goes its a lot more busy than I am used to, but needless to say no one is ever bored.

On Thursday Ken and Alicia came over to drop off their car so they can go to DC before they start really moving into their new house. as soon as they left to go see the dark knight my eye felt weird. well my contact decided to tear in half in my eye. oh yes my only pair of contacts was ruined. With that in mind I had to wear my old pair of glasses til Saturday when I made the closest appointment. They screwed up my glasses and I wasn't able to get them til Sunday.

We might be a little crazy in this house but we know how to go old school. Our current thing is playing Super Mario brothers three. We all play it. Ryan finally beat it today.

Also another thing we have been doing is teasing the turkey... Yes he/she bites.

I love Katrina Lund

So as most of you know that I read a lot of peoples blogs and I love Katrina. I read every blog she has. Well I noticed a new entry on her krafty blog and I fell in love with it. I mean she has some stuff on it that is interesting and I'm far too scared to try to make (her jam meatballs) but hen she put on hot potatoe cakes. I looked at the recipe and I decided to try it out. I altered it a little bit but its a big hit! All i changed with it was i added cheese and garlic salt to it. I need to get different potatoes than I am using because we don't have red potatoes... But I wish I could have like one percent of her creativity...

My friend got married yesterday and I was able to make it to her reception for her (after I pulled major strings at work) She looked amazing and so happy. It made me think about my wedding and I'm so greatful that I married who I did.

I think I have the perfect timing when I decide to call my cousin. I don't even mean to call at a bad time. I was at work the other day and was like I should call Ricky! Yeah perfect timing like always i called right about family home evening time with a side of house cleaning... I have skills I'm telling you.

I helped my dad get a kitten finally. It seems like its going to be perfect for him. I'm glad I can help him out

Ryan and I saw the dark night at midnight when it came out. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! Don't just think its hype go see that movie!

A roudy night

well Ann my bridesmaid is getting married next week and i got the opportunity to go to her bachlorette party which was the most tame thing i have ever been to. i guess a Mormon bachlorette party isn't very wild... I've never been to a normal one so I'm not quite sure what I'm missing but I'm sure its not much. well it started off that we went over to her house and we gave her some presents. she seriously has a huge suitcase full of lacy stuff I'm surprised because shes the most molly Mormon girl i have ever met. we made our selves a pizza out of fabulous fresh and easy foods. a girl decided that she wanted to DOWN pixie sticks. she was so hyper it was annoying, i would hate to see her on spike energy drinks. we headed down to the billagio to watch the foutian show. we went through the garden and were enthralled with the water hopping from one spot to another.

there was this freaky looking tree that looked just like grandmother Willow off of Pocahontas. there was also these two baby eagles in a nest looking down on everyone.
while walking through the casino there was a section of the ceiling that was covered in these flowers which was cool.
outside waiting for the show to start we got pestered with this water guy. "six pretty ladys six waters four dollars! come on i want to go home just buy the waters" he even like put them there on the ground next to us. he was rather a pest. once he left it was much better. we watched the show three different times. we moved to different places each time, each time trying to get a better spot for pictures. Ann was interesting, she was sitting on the guard rales, actually standing on them for part of it. after the three shows we started heading down to the Venetian .
it was about two or three city blocks away. so walking down the street we got the oddest looks ever. it didn't help much that Ann was strutting down the street, it was quite funny. Wendy and i kept trying to get a good picture of it. (gosh I'm getting mad at this program not uploading the pictures for me) we were walking down the street and i got a good laugh when i looked up and saw Donny and Marie looking back at me.
we got to the Venetian and got to the wax museum. it was quite fun, some of them weren't willing to go all in for it, but i went in it to ham it up. i wasn't even going to to go half way i went in full fledged.

once we got out of there we headed back to the car and it was nice and stormy. once we got into the car and onto the freeway it started to PPOOOUUURRR rain. it was crazy. the streets started to flood it was crazy. we went back to her house and then she made virgin pina colatas and strawberry dacories, i stayed at her house til one talking to her. i think i scared her a little bit because i was telling her things she probably didn't want to know. I'm not sure she wanted to hear what i was telling her but she knows me well enough to know why i was spewing the things was spewing out of my mouth. I'm blunt and i am not shy. i will have the most .... blushing conversation with you and not even flinch.

i love my job. its awesome. my first real flex of management muscle. was yesterday... that was interesting

A lot of good things

So today was my first day as team lead of my new store. I now have keys to the building, its an amazing feeling. If I put forth enough effort I could have my own store in a few years (like one and a half to two I'm not saying five) I Have a lot of faith in this business. I love it to tell you the truth. This job isn't necessarily easy but it is a lot easier than Wal-Mart!!! With so many more stores opening up they are always looking for new people. I finally felt good about everything. I know what I can do and people have faith that i can do it too.

So a bunch of good things about today is that
A) I have my very own set of keys to the store and I am in charge of closing the store by myself tomorrow
B) Ryan found the charger to the good camera so I am able to take pictures again!!! (It was lost for three months)
C) Ryan found a whole bunch of cool stuff at work today
D) Had some yummy Chinese food
E) It was just a happy great day!

The fourth of July went really good. I woke up with a migraine (which is common in my family) so I downed about five Tylenol and got over it. I still had the side effects of the lovely head pain in the booty I was motion sick almost. If i moved too much I would get woozy. So when I went to work I got sick in the bathroom after two and a half hours of work. So I went home early. I felt so much better after I got it out of my system and stopped moving so much. So I was home around three and started helping Ryan with cleaning up and waiting for Keith to come over. When he came over I let out the chickens to play willy nilly with the turkey. It was really interesting because the turkey has lately been putting up all the feathers. It has never done it before. so it was following the chickens around like a mommy. Well Keithy brought over a pool to set up. Ryan and Keith leveled out the grass area and then put down three hundred pounds of dirt to smooth it out. the dirt went very quickly and didn't seem as much as it actually was. Ryan and Keith set up the pool frame while burgers and such were grilling. we started filling up the pool around... 7? we got out the wrinkles and then set off fireworks which was fun. Ryan has a love affair with fireworks. i think he gets more excited about setting off fireworks than he get about Christmas. it took until oh one in the morning for the pool to be completely full.

Ryan and i then tested out the pool the next day. its fun for a above ground pool. Now with my milky white skin that hasn't seen the light of day for oh I guess two years the two hours in the pool was a shock for. So now i am lobster red. It hurts but it will feel a million times better tomorrow (two days after the fact) but it wasn't one of those walk out of the pool and be red kind of thing. my sunburn played a nasty trick on me!!! I had a surprise sneak attack sunburn! Or a delayed reaction one. I didn't turn red til about five hours later. I started heating up and feeling it at work two hours into work.

at the moment I'm doing my favorite thing in the world... laundry... yippie

pictures come later

oh and the cat hasn't left us alone. he is following us everywhere and he slept with us and is being oh so cute and needy!

2 am

Well Kenny left to go back to Winimucka yesterday, but not before he gave me the highlight of my week. He was going through my mother's cds looking for cds he wanted to rip onto his computer. He had already gone through Jenni's and kind of didn't look twice of them. when he got to my moms he got all giddy like "OoOoO!!! 70's music!!!" and after he had giggled over finding a Neil diamond cd, a moto one, then he came across a bright orange cd and I got a reaction that made me almost burst into hysterics.

"Space jam!!!! Do your dance its your chance its the space jam!!! Alright alright alright!!!" oh no he didn't just sing that, I think he even got around to the second verse. After I was laughing he then explained he had had that song stuck in his head for the last ten years. I never thought that that movie had such an impact on people. I guess I was too young when it came out for the song to get stuck in my head for ten years.

For those of you who know my sleeping habits you know there are nights when I don't fall asleep til like four am. Its just really hard for me to fall asleep at a normal hour when I don't get off work til eleven almost twelve at night. So last night I had an itch I had to scratch. I had been in the mood to make cupcakes. But I wanted to make them with flair.

So I decided to have little curls of chocolate sit on the tops of the little cakes of goodness. I figured out that they curl so much better and easier when the chocolate is nearly melting in your hand when you are pealing it off. They are oh so good though! White cake with chocolateness on top.

I have discovered that I like musicals. I know such a shocker, but I am picky on which ones I do like. I like rent and wicked but I SERIOUSLY hate hairspray. I somehow convinced Ryan to go see the movie and by the time the first song ended we left and went to I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. But my latest stuck in my head Broadway show is Legally Blonde the musical. If you like the movie you will like the show. I got interested in it while watching the mtv show for them looking for the new Elle woods. I looked online to see if there was any videos on the show on youtube and I hit the gold mine. The entire show is online, mtv evidently aired it a few years ago. So now I have completely watched it twice and keep getting "so much better" stuck in my head along with half the other songs.

Ryan and I are trying to force molly to be social while everyone is gone. We have all the doors shut so she cant go hide under a bed. Shes so sad about it. But now she's trying to get over it, I have her in here with me today... I think shes a little bit bored.
